After years of cash donations and pro bono projects, we challenged ourselves to think differently about how we gave back to our community. There had to be a better way to empower nonprofits we believed in. Could we consolidate our efforts, dedicate all of our talent and resources and develop something meaningful that would move their mission forward for years to come? Absolutely. Could we do it in 24 hours? Yes. Just make sure the coffee is strong.

The 2016 RedEye winner

One Heartland

One Heartland offers camp programs to children, youth and families facing significant health challenges or social isolation. They provide over 500 camp experiences every year to create an environment where everyone can feel appreciated, celebrated and free of stigma and discrimination. Because most of the camp's participants live below the poverty line—donors make their camps a reality.

One Heartland is located in a wooded setting near Willow River, MN, and headquartered in Minneapolis.
