Real Education. Real Results.

Set foot on the campus of Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) and you’ll have a completely new perspective on post-secondary education. DCTC has a 95% job placement rate for their graduates. It was our task to help overcome preconceived notions about technical training. We wanted the world to see the quality and value of the college-level academic programs DCTC offers.

Mission: Education for Employment

DCTC is a vibrant academic community offering hands-on education and training for students and working adults. We immersed ourselves in the school and its culture. We conducted research on community and technical colleges within 30 miles of DCTC to see what other community and technical colleges were offering. 

Step One: Reinforce the DCTC brand
We knew we had to bring the DCTC brand into the new millennium to reflect the quality of real-world education offered. We did it by building on the brand equity of the DCTC logo. We also developed a powerful tagline focused on the key benefit of a DCTC education. “Real Education. Real Results.” captured the brand promise. A bright and bold color palette gave new life to the DCTC brand and became the graphic treatment on the website template and videos. 

Step Two: Seeing is believing
We also needed to communicate the various programs available to prospective students. We did it in 57 separate videos that captured each academic program and campus offering. Videos included a school overview, and highlighted programs ranging from Nanoscience Technology to the only certified Wood Finishing Technology program in the United States that is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution.
