National Sales Meeting

How do you pump up a sales force that has seen it all? For the Medtronic’s 1,000+ Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management sales reps, our solution was to transform their 2010 National Sales Meeting into a three-day rock concert. Inspired by the company’s recent successes and imminent product launches, we developed Rock the Market as the theme, personality and call to action of the meeting.

The opening general session kicked into high gear with a performance by an “extreme painter” who set the tone—and the bar—for the leadership team. Without a podium or PowerPoint deck to rely on, the presenters connected with their audience like seasoned performers, even jamming with the on-stage rock band. In lieu of traditional speaker introductions, we spoofed VH1’s “Behind the Music” with a mockumentary-style video, starring the executives as concert roadies.

In addition to pre-meeting teasers, Rock the Market supported post-meeting initiatives by reinforcing key messages, maintaining momentum and motivating the sales reps to embody the rock ‘n roll personae.
